Was it a fluke that made video contest software become so popular in 2013? Hardly.
Without the demand for software to make campaigns easier and more efficient to launch, the demand for software wouldn’t have spiked the way it did.
Let’s talk a little more about why the demand was there in the first place.
The demand to easily launch campaigns was there for a few reasons.
Attitudes about marketing and reaching audiences have been shifting. More and more campaigns are relying less on the endless stream of money that large corporations can pour into marketing. Campaigns with big budgets and nearly endless resources might look pretty great when they’re all put together.
But what are those campaigns really accomplishing by throwing money at their marketing without actually building a relationship with their audience?

Some of the games on the various Ahh sites have have included aiming ice cubes into a glass of soda, or trying to keep a laser pointer away from a herd of cats.
Throughout the campaign, the focus has remained on teens, with advertising on Adult Swim, MTV, and MTV 2. Several months ago, Coke began asking for user-generated video from teens. The aim for the video was to capture the experience of taking a sip of Coke.

Yelp has announced that users will be able to make the most of their review by adding user-generated video via the mobile app.
Beginning in June, Elite users will be the first to be able to upload 3-12 second video. Eventually everyone will be able to add video to their review. In the meantime, it’ll be appearing on mobile reviews early next month.
The goal is to provide a better glimpse into what to expect when heading out. Photos and text can provide a quick look at local businesses, but Yelp is looking to provide a view that only video can offer.

Warm weather and family vacation plans are on the brain, but how’s your summer video contest promotion planning shaping up?
If you’re going to use any of the summer holidays to build a fun, summer campaign, it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll handle promotion!
First up, timing.
It would be great if we could plan an awesome campaign and then let the promotion fall into place without too much effort.
But getting the word out takes more work than that, and a little bit of strategy. A lot of us fear starting our promotion too late, and with good reason. It doesn’t matter how well you put together your campaign, if your promotion isn’t happening until the last minute, then no one is going to hear about it.

There are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind for your first video testimonial interview. It’s good to set the tone early, to start reinforcing good habits which can make a big difference in the success of your campaign.
Get into the habit of asking
It’s impossible to receive testimonials if you’re not asking for them.
Work on making asking a natural part of your routine with clients. Some people express apprehension about asking, unsure of the kind of feedback they’ll receive, or if their clients will be up for it. The truth is that the majority of clients are going to want to help you out if they’re happy with what you’ve done for them.

For anyone who is just starting out with video marketing, it can be a challenge to know what requirements should be put in place. What’ll work best for you and your contest ultimately boils down to knowing what you’re looking to achieve.

Dentist visits aren’t traditionally known for inspiring positive feelings. There’s usually some dread, paired with feet dragging, all before getting to the appointment. Maybe dentist video testimonials can do a little something to change that.
Instead of stirring up anxious feelings, with the help of testimonials to provide reassurance, first time patients can feel a little more at ease about their upcoming visit.
What testimonials can do for your marketing
Video testimonials give consumers a chance to connect.
Instead of relying on corporate marketing efforts, they can speak directly to one another through reviews and testimonials. It allows them to cut through the noise of big budget marketing, which doesn’t generally advocate for the voice of the consumer.

The do’s and don’ts of video testimonial interview questions are pretty simple.
Mostly, it comes down to knowing how to work with people who aren’t used to speaking on camera in order to achieve great testimonials that feel natural to viewers. It’s a learning process for you as you’re getting started and the people you’re working with to receive the video.
Here’s how to make it happen!
Don’t: Ask, “Do you like our product/service?”
Do: Ask questions that require more than a yes/no response.
Testimonials work so well because consumers like to hear from one another. Instead of asking questions that receive a clipped, short response, consider asking questions that allow for some explanation.
